Luncheon Program June 17th in Rosemont at Carlucci’s Restaurant
The EU-US trade relationship is the biggest in the world. Traded goods and services between the two partners are worth €2 billion daily. Negotiations related to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) have been underway for several years. A major point of contention is the treatment of Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs), which include regulations for product standards. The EU’s regulatory process is based on the Precautionary Principal which, in effect, means that products must be proven 100% safe. In the U.S, technologies have been developed to analyze and manage risks.
Learn the latest about the TTIP and the NTBs from an expert. Michael J. Lynch, Principal, Advanced Advocacy, LLC, assists private companies in understanding standards and codes for existing and future products and markets to maximize benefits. For more than two decades, Mr. Lynch has managed the government affairs department activity of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), a publicly traded global manufacturer of innovative and highly engineered components, products and systems. Since 2003, Mr. Lynch served as ITW’s Vice President, responsible for affecting targeted public policy across the globe.
His presentation will highlight NTBs in the TTIP negotiations and propose alternative outcomes for U.S. manufacturers. To learn more about the June 17th luncheon program at Carlucci’s restaurant, 6111 North River Road, Rosemont, see:
