IHA Announces Three New Board Members

Four new directors have been elected to the board of directors of the International Housewares Association.

The new directors are Gregory C. Cairo, president, Groupe SEB USA; Anthony E. Kircher, president, Winix, Inc.; Erik Reid, general manager, Kyocera Advanced Ceramics; and David Sabin, president, Kids Line. They were elected to three-year terms that begin Oct. 1 and end Sept. 30, 2014.

Also elected were new board officers:

  • Chairman – Richard L. Boynton, Jr., president/CEO, Jura Capresso, Inc.
  • Vice Chairman/Chairman Elect – William Reibl, president, Bill Reibl & Associates LLC
  • Treasurer – Michael Magerman, president/CEO, Quickie Mfg. Corp.

All officers serve one-year terms from Oct. 1, 2011 to Sept. 30, 2012.

Retiring from the board are Mark Eichhorn, president/CEO, Anchor Hocking Co.; Barry Harper, Harper Brush Works, Inc.; and Robert L. Trudeau, chairman, Trudeau Corporation. Re-appointed for a second three-year term was Steven Fraser, CMO, SAI Home Products, Inc.

Cairo joined Groupe SEB USA as vice president of sales in August 2006, with responsibility for cookware and small domestic appliances for the T-fal, WearEver and Emeril brands. He was named president in January 2010 and oversees the cookware and small domestic appliances for the Krups, Rowenta, T-fal, WearEver, Emeril and IMUSA USA. Before joining Groupe SEB USA, Cairo served as the vice president of sales for the WearEver brand with previous companies, first with Newell Rubbermaid from 2000-04 and then with Global Home Products from 2006-06. He also serves on the board of the Cookware Manufacturers Association.

Kircher has served as president of Winix since joining the manufacturer of home environment appliances in 2004. With a background in international sales, he served as director of international market development for Fellowes Inc. from 1993-2004 and as export manager for Watlow Electric from 1989-93. Kircher is a member of IHA’s Housewares Export Council (HECNA) and served as HECNA president in 2010.

Reid joined Kyocera in March 2005 as national sales manager. He was named general manager of the manufacturer of advanced ceramic knives, kitchen tools and stationery in June 2008. Before coming to Kyocera, he was regional merchandise manager/Western region for Lenox, Inc. Reid is a member of IHA’s Government Affairs Committee.

Boynton joined Jura Capresso, Inc., as general manager in April 2007 and was named president in January 2008. The company manufactures upscale coffee equipment, including espresso/cappuccino makers, coffee grinders and drip coffee makers. Before moving to Jura, he worked for LeCreuset from 2002 – 2007, becoming president of the high-end cookware and wine accessory manufacturer in January 2004. Previous to LeCreuset, Boynton worked for New Ground Resources in St. Louis from 1996-2002, serving as senior vice president, and from 1991-96 for Sunbeam Corporation, serving as president of the household products division of Sunbeam-Oster from 1994-96. He was elected to IHA’s board in 2006 and re-elected in 2009.

Reibl, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the housewares industry, recently served as president/CEO of Progressive International, which he joined in 1994 as senior vice president of marketing and sales. He was promoted to vice president/general manager in 1996 and named president/CEO of the marketer of kitchen tools and gadgets in 1998. Before joining Progressive, Reibl worked for Melitta North America from 1987-94, where he served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the marketer of coffee and coffee brewing accessories. Reibl also served as director of marketing & merchandising for Bulova Watch Company from 1986-87. He began his career in retailing as a buyer for Gimbel’s, where he worked from 1977-82. He was elected to IHA’s board in 2006 and re-elected in 2009. He served as Treasurer in 2010-11.

Magerman joined Quickie Mfg. in 2005. The company designs, manufacturers and markets a variety of cleaning tools, including brooms, brushes (from kitchen to bathroom to car washing), mops, scrubbers, scouring pads, dust pans and squeegees. Before joining Quickie, Magerman was senior director at Centre Partners, a private equity firm, from 1999-2005 and president/CEO of Odyssey Golf, a golf club manufacturer. He was elected to IHA’s board in 2009.

Also serving on the IHA Board are: Evan Dash, CEO, StoreBound; David E. Elliott, general manager/KitchenAid Small Appliances, KitchenAid; Steven Fraser, CMO, SAI Home Products, Inc.; Sheldon Goodman, president, Spectrum Diversified Designs, Inc.; Keith Jaffee, Focus Investments; Bruce Kaminstein, CEO, Casabella Holdings LLC and immediate past IHA Chairman; Gavin Lam, CEO, Lynns Concepts Inc.; Joseph Mallof, president/CEO, World Kitchen, LLC; Daniel Oehy, president, Swissmar; Alvise Ricoveri, managing director, De’Longhi America, Inc.;  Gary Seehoff, CEO, Evriholder Products, LLC and Jenna Sellers Miller, president, Architec.

Serving on the executive committee of the board are Richard Boynton, Bill Reibl, Michael Magerman, Bruce Kaminstein and David Elliott.
