The Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, one of Chicago’s most recently constructed downtown properties, is the contemporary debut of Radisson Blu in North America. From the exquisite architecture to the stunning gold-plated wall and 50-foot fireplace in the lobby, this hotel is true representation of the high-class brand. The Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel is located in the Aqua Tower, designed by Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects. It is the tallest building in the world to have a woman as the lead architect. As a nod to the nearby Chicago River and Lake Michigan, Jeanne’s design mimics wave-like forms created by stretched out balconies in various measurements. In addition to the building’s design being its own work of art, the uniquely Chicago-focused artwork and intricate attention to detail within the property make this hotel truly a destination in itself.
In addition to the 334 luxurious guest rooms and suites, many with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Millennium Park, International Home + Housewares attendees can take advantage of more than 28,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The 80,000 square foot green roof and partly covered recreation deck contains a 1/5 mile running track and plenty of open space, which is hard to come by in the heart of downtown Chicago. Additional amenities are lavish and include an 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center, game room with pool and card tables, indoor pool, steam room and sauna, and eco-friendly room service ordered via the guestroom television.
Guests can also enjoy the exquisitely prepared, seasonal fare at Filini Bar and Restaurant, an upscale, contemporary Italian concept. With a menu running the gamut from light antipasti to traditional savory Italian dishes, patrons are sure to walk away pleased and anything but hungry. The sleek lower-level bar also makes Filini a great spot to unwind and have a relaxing drink after a long Show day.
The perfect blend of modern design and comfortable luxury, the Radisson Blu is in a class of its own and is sure to take your Chicago experience to a new level.
