Global Design Points is a sub-category of the Global Marketplace representing high design and innovation from nations all across the globe. Outstanding craftsmanship and design-focused products are at the center of Global Design Points, strategically positioned throughout the Show.

France

France is the intersection where innovative products and time honored traditions meet! The 2013 French pavilion, organized by UBIFRANCE, showcases colorful and sleek designs in cutlery, glassware, bakeware, kitchen gadgets and kitchen textiles. The French cooking and hosting customs reflected in the products in the pavilion align perfectly with the American tradition of at-home entertaining. These elegant and stylish products can easily be integrated in modern kitchens and are available at reasonable price points. Be sure to visit us and be inspired by the French “Art de Vivre”!

Japan

The Japan Pavilion features 19 companies that bring you the highest quality homeware products of the widest variety. These companies showcase everything from traditional Japanese lacquerware, earthenware and woodware to modern products that apply advanced Japanese technology to bring you eco-friendly stationery, iPod gadgets, safe plasticware and exquisite glassware. Japanese housewares have long been globally admired for their quality, practicality and elegance, and we invite you to our booths, located in both the North and South Buildings, to discover the breadth of these companies’ unique products.

Italy

The Maniago District (located in north-east Italy) is a local system made up of 100 companies working in the sector of knives. Its pavilion at the International Home + Housewares Show will feature four companies exhibiting handcrafted cutlery and kitchen accessories. The attention to detail combined with elegant design and clean lines accentuate the typical elegance of Italian design. Our products, Made in Italy, Made in Maniago, are born from the experience of craftsmanship, have been handed down from father to son for 500 years, and are combined with the research of materials and high technology. Our goal is to offer our customers more value-added products to distinguish themselves from others without departing from our tradition and history.

Hong Kong

Established in 1966, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is the international marketing arm for Hong Kong-based traders, manufacturers and service providers. With more than 40 offices, including 11 on the Chinese mainland, HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a platform for doing business in China and throughout Asia. Hong Kong is a well-known international sourcing center for houseware products. The industry itself covers a wide range of products including tableware, kitchenware, non-electric domestic cooking/heating appliances and sanitary ware.

Colombia

Proexport Colombia, the Colombian Government Trade Bureau, invites you to learn more about the variety, quality, and innovation of the Colombian products. Visit Proexport Colombia’s first pavilion at the International Home + Housewares Show to view six brand new companies and their innovative products. The home products industry has swiftly grown in Colombia reaching over USD $539 million expanding at a 9% compounded growth over the past 10 years. Brazil

For the eightieth consecutive year, the Think Plastic Brazil(former Export Plastic Program), coordinated by the INP – Brazilian Plastic Institute, brings the best in plastic housewares from Brazil to the International Home + Housewares Show. “Go Beyond” is the concept of this year’s pavilion, which showcases trends in design, mix of materials, array of colors and functionality. This year, 16 companies are presenting solutions in tableware, kitchenware, bathware and more. All products are manufactured in Brazil, which is a very desirable option to international buyers due to the integrated plastic value chain, quality, design and investments in innovation.
