It isn’t just what you know, and it isn’t just who you know. It’s actually who you know, who knows you, and what you do… – Bob Burg (networking guru)
Although the IHA doesn’t have keys to open every door in every international market, programs are in-place to provide international intelligence, insight, guidance and networking opportunities to those who choose to participate! Take advantage of the following opportunities to build your international network:
International Home + Housewares Show Registration Lists – IHA member-exhibitors have access to the registration data for the 2010 Show. Sort registrations by country, badge type, product interest, etc. to tailor a mailing list specific to your company, products and needs. In April, the Show contact at your company was sent details on how to download these files. For more information visit http://www.housewares.org/show/exhibit/directory_login.aspx. In addition, HECNA members can also download directly from the HECNA members-only website at www.housewares.org/hecna. Free to IHA (non-associate) member-exhibitors and HECNA members.
Trade Missions – IHA led retail trade missions allow attendees to have face-to-face access to key retailer and distributor buyers in select international markets. These missions are designed to provide practical information and networking contacts, allowing participants to begin conducting business immediately. View detailed information on missions currently being planned and organized for South America, India and the Nordic Countries & Russia. Historic missions have included Brazil, Chile, Poland, Czech Republic, India and Mexico. Pricing varies by mission length and country.
HECNA Membership – The Housewares Export Council (HECNA) is a special interest group of IHA members, dedicated to helping its membership market and sell their products internationally by sharing information, providing networking opportunities and offering programs to assist, support and educate. Join HECNA to have an instant peer network, access to HECNA’s networking group on LinkedIn and to receive the monthly Export Explorer newsletter. Read complete HECNA membership details. $350 annual membership fee.
HECNA Key Retailer and Distributor Reports – These reports provide a detailed overview of a retailer or distributor complete with buyer contact details. Thus far, 29 reports are available covering a wide variety of international markets. Seventeen additional reports are under development and are scheduled to be released within the next few months. Free to HECNA members.
HECNA Global Forum – This two to four day meeting is for companies looking to grow their international business. Executive education, general, networking and break-out sessions provide information for both strategic planning and immediate implementation. Education comes directly from industry experts and retail & distribution buyers. Download the complete brochure for the next HECNA Global Forum, taking place September 19-21. $600 registration fee for HECNA members; $950 fee for non members.
