The International Housewares Association hosted a pavilion at the Interior Lifestyle China trade fair from September 25 – 27. Six IHA-member companies – Wilton, MadeSmart, InterDesign, Smith’s / KitchenIQ, Hampton Forge and Trudeau – took part in this exhibition, focused on selling within the Chinese market.
According to Messe Frankfurt, the fair had a total of 282 exhibitors with 176 coming from China and 106 coming from overseas. In addition to the US/Canadian pavilion operated by the IHA, other country pavilions included Germany, France, India and Taiwan. On the buyer side, more that 17,000 were registered with close to 100% coming from within China and Hong Kong.
The fair is really unlike other “sourcing” events found in China – it truly is about finding distributors and retailers who are looking for products and brands to sell within the Chinese market. The 2014 edition of the fair will take place September 18-20 in Shanghai. Anyone interested in participating within the IHA pavilion should contact Lori Szudarek at Lszudarek@housewares.org for additional details.
